Mega Pack 1.1.0

*******************************************************
1. Mega Pack 1.0.0a System Requirements.
*******************************************************

Hard Disk Space:	600-700 MB Free For MegaPack

*******************************************************
2. Intro: I'm not sure where to begin.
*******************************************************

Most people were expecting Version 2.4. Instead, I present Mega Pack 1.

This pack combines the Cargo sets, The Amtrak/Via Sets, The Classic Passenger/Metro sets.
It wraps them all up into one convenient Installer. This replaces all previous packs for those series.

*******************************************************

During the install, there is an option for a "Web Update." It is recommended that you choose the web update options; this will give you the latest install options and updates available at the time of installation. It will also add support for updated pack as they get Updated/Released. For this feature" to work, you will need internet connectivity during the install. Some firewalls like Zone Alarm might need you to say "allow". If internet connectivity is not available, the install will work. You will just have to wait for the next official downloadable update.

The installer also has a few extra options. It adds support for the limited edition packs and will soon have even more features via add-on packs and web updates. (You still have to have the extra packs to install them.)

At the time of writing this, the LTD1, LTD2, LTD3 and the "Auto Mod" are in the process of being updated and are not yet available to the general public as new style packs. The old style versions are still available and must be installed separately. They will follow shortly.

This pack while called "Mega Pack 1 is coded internally as 3.0. The reason for this is, it would be even more confusing to have the cargo pack (or any other pack) version 1 again. So, we move forward, the 3 series is the logical starting place...

*******************************************************

"Hive" overview":

The "hive" creates an advanced installer for you, it helps overcomes a massive amount of conflicting requests I have had. 1/2 the people asked for a simple exe installer and 1/2 requested a way to have just the dats.

Buy creating a hive", it in a way mirrors my hard drive to everyones PC. It is a folder structure of all the dates that exist for this (and other) packs.

It then has a simple web interface for users that wish to just have the parts installed that they chose. In the other hand,

For the advanced user: they may now skip the web installer and dig through the hive and select only what they want from it. The hive is quite complex in its folder structure. Yet, at the same time, quite friendly for finding the files you want.

One advantage of the hive is being able to update it fairly easily from the web.
Another advantage is, once the hive is created, you could burn it to CD to save drive space.

If the hive" method proves to not work, we can always scrap it. This is sort of a test.

*******************************************************
3. Install Order of Packs:
*******************************************************

In theory, there should be none.

The Mega Pack should be installed first, then any mega pack updates.

The LTD sets are optional. You can install them or not. It is recommended you install the ones you want in number sequence, LTD1, LTD2, Etc.

The Automod will be the only problem. Ver. 2.6 is current automod at this time, if you install it last, you might overwrite some updated trains in the Mega Pack for it. Once ver. 2.7 (and newer) is available, this issue will be resolved. Allowing you to install it in any order.

The Dekosoft sets are completely independent of this set and do not affect it at all.

*******************************************************
4. How to install this Pack.
*******************************************************

It should be pretty simple.

1 The first step is to Unzip the zip file (If you are reading this, you got that far already)
2 Next Start the Mega Pack installs EXE.
3 The first screen will be a welcome screen, go ahead and hit next.
4 Next you will get to the License agreement. Please read it and accept it or quit if you dont.
5 You will then get the read me (this page). Hit next.
6 Next, You may choose the components you wish to install. Make your choices and hit next.
7 Now you must choose your destination folder. I have forced it to install to your locomotion directory. Before you panic, the dat files DO NOT copy to your Objdata folder at this time. The pack installs to what I call the "Hive" (see above).
8. The pack should now create the hive for you. This might take a while as there are over 1000 files in this pack.
9. Next the installer will update from the web and get any new information/Patches that are available.
10. The last step should be the launching of the Web installer". This tool will now copy the options you want to your Objdata folder. If for some reason the web installer fails to start, you may start it manually. It is located in your locomotion folder in the "chicago_locomotive_works" folder.

Web installer:
10a simple as pie. Click what you want installed to your Objdata.
*NOTE*: if you select an option you dont have installed, it will say "EXE not found".

Why do I always put this off until I dont have time to do this?

There is so much credit due.
There is a lot that happens behind the scenes here.

First off, this pack would not exist if it was not from combined help from Justin Cornel and Martin (Strongbow). These guys helped me a lot to get the foundation for this pack in place. Also an additional Huge thanks to Justin Cornell (again) for his Payware Trainz models (see item list below). Also a big thanks to Lionel "Busman" Jones for scrounging up data, models and ideas and letting me crash his lomo over and over with bad betas...To Zimmlock for his eye at spotting bad offsets and tons of ideas and suggestions... You guys rock, Take a bow.

Thank You to the MSTS community. Without them, this pack would not exist. They have been very supportive and generous in supplying freeware and Payware models for this pack. I have worked very closely with lots of them to get models for you guys to enjoy.

I owe a lot of credits here and I just cant keep track anymore, I'll do the best I can. I know I will forget someone. I'll update this as much as I can after vacation. Please let me know if I forgot anything/anyone.
