                           TRANSPORT TYCOON SAVED GAME MANAGER
                                       VERSION 2.2

                                         README

Thank you for downloading my Transport Tycoon Saved Game Manager. This program lets you manage
all your Transport Tycoon saved games, scenarios and multiplayer saved games. You can copy them,
move them, delete them, rename them, compress/decompress them, get detailed information on them,
and more!

Here are most of the changes between Saved Game Manager 2.1 and 2.2:

- Manager now compiled with Visual Basic 6.0
- New Game menu commands
- F1 help added
- Compress games directly from Explorer
- TTDPatch fixes
- Setup improvements
- Plug-in installation improvements
- Plus other bug fixes and improvements

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
===================

The Saved Game Manager requires the following:

- Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP or higher, or Windows NT 4.0
- About 5mb of disk space
- Microsoft HTML Help Update (available from the Saved Game Manager web site)
- WININET.DLL. This is supplied with IE4 (and maybe IE3) and higher and is available from the
  SGM web site.

INSTALLING THE MANAGER
======================

To install the Saved Game Manager, extract all the files from the ZIP file if you haven't
already, and run the SETUP.EXE file.

Notes about upgrading from earlier versions
-------------------------------------------

If you have Saved Game Manager 1.2 or earlier, it is highly recommended you uninstall
it. You may need to reinstall any plug-ins after installing Saved Game Manager 2.2. If
you choose not to remove the earlier version, your plug-ins will be automatically
upgraded for use with Saved Game Manager 2.2, but you may get into difficulties. If do,
then choose to uninstall Transport Tycoon Saved Game Manager from the Add/Remove Programs
applet in Control Panel. There may be two entries - ensure the older one is selected (you
will see an "Initializing Setup" box if it's the newer version). Remove the old version,
then choose to Add/Remove the newer version. Choose Repair and you should have a working
system.

I have been working extensively on the Setup program for version 2.2 to try and make the
upgrade process from earlier versions more seamless. However, some of the earlier Setup
programs weren't brilliant, and weren't very future-proof in this way. Saved Game Manager
2.1 Setup registered it's version number in the registry, and so does version 2.2. Future
versions of Setup will be able to find out if 2.1/2.2 is installed by looking at this entry,
and then performing the necessary upgrade.
